Dr. Anderson is a graduate of the University of Florida and obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University. She completed her internship at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) through the Clinical Child and Pediatric Psychology Program. Following her internship, she completed her post-doctoral fellowship in Columbus, Georgia, working at Columbus Psychological Associates, the Columbus State University Counseling Center, and the Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. After completing her post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Anderson was delighted to begin her practice at Columbus Psychological Associates.
Her specialties include conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations and providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families. These services can be utilized to address a variety of behavioral, emotional, academic, social, and developmental concerns (including, but not limited to, ADHD, anxiety, depression, social delays, grief, adjustment/transitions, and learning disabilities). Dr. Anderson also works extensively with families to strengthen parent-child interactions and relationships, as well as provides behavior management training to parents. Dr. Anderson recognizes the importance of working as a member of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team in order to obtain the optimal services available to a child, adolescent, or family. Therefore, she attempts to work with family members, physicians, teachers, and/or other school personnel as needed to address difficulties across a variety of settings. When she is not involved with work, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as baking and traveling.
